Nathaniel Davauer, raised on a dairy farm, earned his art degree in Photography at nearby University of Wisconsin - Madison. Just before the millennium's end, he took his camera to Asia where he honed his skills as a photojournalist working in Beijing. He has since photographed nomads in Tibet, fishermen in Siberia and monks in Cambodia. After returning, he spent time working in the studio creating several images that have earned national awards.

The photojournalist experience combined with the classic art training have made him uniquely suited to deliver beautiful yet meaningful images for lifestyle editorial, on location portraits and weddings.

On Weddings...

Being chosen and trusted to tell the visual story of someone's wedding to future generations is an honor and I never forget that. I love travel photography and have always felt weddings were very similar photographically. You have to transport yourself into a unique environment with people who are doing something very special. We don’t get married every day and that makes every wedding a cultural landmark in each person’s life. Documenting this story is a challenge that many photographers fear: A long day filled with different locations and different light, no opportunities for retakes all to be captured while being social. For me though, this is the most rewarding environment to make great photos. When I leave the house on the wedding day, I imagine myself about to shoot the most important story on Earth that day. 'There are a lot of things happening in the world today, but this wedding, with these two people is the story I have to tell to the future. This wedding is the most important story in the world for the next 12 hours'."

"I just wanted to tell you that we received the wedding pictures and we couldn't be more happy with them. You surpassed our expectations and really did an exceptional job capturing the true moments of the day. It's amazing how looking at some of those candid shots really takes you back to the day. Our parents are also thrilled with how they turned out, so thank you again for everything."

The added book you gave us is so special, and unexpected."
